I just want to put a reminder out there of the adopt a family that we do every year. This is something that we have been doing for a long time now and it is a great fundraiser.  This is something that I did in College every year and we took the presents to the kids and families. It is something that is near to me and it is a great feeling. I was a college student not to long ago with very limited money but still found a way to give back. Please think of the less fortunate at this time and if you have any questions at all please email me at Hoosier174@gmail.com. I will answer any questions you have. Thanks again and Happy Holidays.

Trivia Question # 1

This is just a personal preference

Trivia Question # 2

Coach Smith has tricked most of you with this one. Shaun Newton was our first wrestler to attend U of M. Shaun went to U of M and walked on as a freshman and stuck with it for four years and rallied a great wrestling career. He also graduated with an Aeronautical Engineering degree and currently live out in Washington with is wife and two kids and works for Boeing. Shaun is another one of Davison's success stories that many have not heard about.
I just wanted to say what a nice job we did this weekend. I was really concerned going into it after our down performance on Wednesday, but our kids really did a great job. The team looked like the same team that wrestled against Oxford and the same team that wrestled down in Ohio. I was just really happy to see the way we performed this weekend.  I was also really happy with all the the support and help we got from parents this weekend. The Chase Challenge really ran smooth because of your help. The spread down stairs was amazing too. A lot of parents stepped up and it showed and we thank you for that. Coach Smith would like to send a special thanks to Mr. Schlack and Mrs. Lapeer for their contribution to the outstanding J.V. tournament. It was hard to do last minute but a job well done.

Trivia Number 1

The move that really separated Davison was the Cement Job. It was not the move itself but the weigh Coach Hall taught us to finish it.

Trivia Number 2

As most of you guessed it, Coach Smith does in fact work for Dort Federal.
Alright parents,

Last week was a great season opening week for us. As we all know we wrestled Oxford on wens. and pulled a win over them. Thurs we wrestled Rochester and beat them after they have gained victories over us over the past two years. Then we followed that with a loss over Lake Fenton. I know this was an upsetting loss but we learned a lot from it and we got a lot better because of it. We continued on to Saturday, where we sent 14 guys down to Walsh High School in Ohio. The Cards wrestled four great duals and gained victories in all.  Ohio was a great experience for the guys because for one its nice to get the team away and staying together (like in a hotel). It's where they create a stronger bond and develop that attitude where they actually want to fight not only for themselves but for their team as well. Also with these four duals we wrestled very hard and again with guts. There was not one easy dual. We had hard matches through out the entire day.  Ill never forget Hankens showing us how to get of your back.
We also took the remaining guys to the Grand Blanc Invite where we had a great showing. Patrick Rooker coming up with the Gold and Jacob Madrigal showing us what hes got as well, with picking up the Silver.  All of our guys wrestled tough over the weekend and it was most certainly a weekend of growth. It make me personally so excited that I have been fortunate enough to come back to Davison and witness these kids grow. It is really fun watching these kids wrestle and even more fun watching them grow as wrestlers.
With that said, we are going to have another tough and busy week in front of us. Wens we wrestle DCC and Saturday we have the Chase Challenges in our house. I look forward to seeing you all and GO CARDS!!!

Man was last night exciting!!! Again I know we have missed a beat but from when I left here 6 years ago until now. It feels as if we haven't. With that said we have a lot of room to grow here. There are a lot of point out there they we did not pick up. Which that is fine because we do not want to peak at the first dual. It is going to be a long season. The reason we schedule Oxford so early is so that we could wrestle a great team and see where we stand. Well we know where we stand and we know how we can help our guys. Yesterday was exciting, not just for our varsity guys but our B team and J.V. team. Everyone went out and wrestled with guts. We keep saying if you can put together a full six or seven minutes, then you can make things happen. Now with that said we really hope Ryan Thick is doing alright and I'm waiting to hear back on how he is doing. No one wants to see that and our thoughts go out to him and his family. But now we need to move on and get ready for Rochester and Lake Fenton. See you all tonight and thanks for the support.
